Whitney Returns to Victory Lane on the I-70 Dirt

(Odessa, Mo.)  May 2, 2008 -- Sanctioned IMCA racing resumed Friday night at I-70 Speedway's dirt track.  2007 Stock Car Champion, Brad Whitney won the first heat and Thomas Roberts won the second. Whitney went on to win the feature in that division on a chilly night at I-70 Speedway.Thomas Roberts battled his way with Whitney all the way from the back to take second with Matt Marrant finishing third. Marrant was the 2007 Sport Mod Champion, now driving Stock Cars in 2008.

 
Two first time winners in the Sport Mods took their heats, Cody Graham and Chris Whalen, Graham took the feature in dominating style. Jim Blaine took second and John Boller, Jr. charged from the rear to finish third.
 
In IMCA Modified competition, 2007 Champion, Steven Glen of Hamilton, Mo won the feature with Truman Asher of St. Joseph taking second ahead of former pavement ace, Ron Cordon. Jerimiah Sailing and P.J. Conger won their respective heats.
 
The Sport Compact division saw a driver fom Bennington, Nebraska take the feature win ahead of the previous week's winner, Justin Marrant with Jessica Clemons in third. Another class with the top three trophying was the ever popular Farm Truck division! Walter Cox of Odessa got his first ever feature win with Tom Corum in second and Mike Bashke in third.
