Dirt Track and Dirt Cars Play Big Part of World Cup Weekend

Odessa, MO  (September 14, 2007) – With a big weekend planned at I-70 Speedway, the Dirt Track and Dirt Cars will play a big part in World Cup 2007.  The weekend long World Cup will start next Friday night, September 21st, with “Five Dollar Friday” on the Dirt Track.  The 2007 points season for IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA SportMods, Sport Compacts and Farm Trucks will come to an end.  Finishes in a couple of the IMCA divisions are likely to determine National, Regional and State Championships. 

 

As always, on “Five Dollar Friday”, all general admission tickets are only $5.00 with children 5 and under admitted for free.  Pit Gates will open at 5:00 with Admission Gates opening at 6:00.  Registration will close and Hot Laps will begin at 7:30 and dirt track racing will begin at 8:15.  For exciting, competitive dirt track racing action, don’t miss this last “Five Dollar Friday” of the 2007 racing season.

 

On Saturday night, September 22nd, the asphalt program will be Season Championship Night for three asphalt classes; Super Stocks, Dash Cars and Enduros.  There will be practice sessions for the Super Trucks and the ASALM Late Models as they prepare for their Sunday afternoon World Cup events.  And, as an added attraction on Saturday night, there will be a full show including qualifying heats and features for Dirt Stock Cars and Dirt SportMods / B-Mods, on the asphalt track. 

 

SportMods / B-Mods and Stock Cars will compete under area track rules including; I-70 Speedway, Valley Speedway, Central Missouri Speedway, etc.  Stock Cars and SportMod / B-Mod drivers wishing to compete must bring a copy of their home track rules and have them available for tech officials during pre and post race inspections.  No asphalt cars for this “dirt on asphalt” event!

 

Finally, on Sunday afternoon, after the conclusion of the 200 lap Late Model feature and the 100 lap Super Truck feature, on the asphalt track; a complete, $1,000.00 to win,  Modified show on the dirt track, will close World Cup Weekend 2007.  The Modified show will include qualifying heat races, a pole dash to determine starting positions for top qualifiers and a 25 lap feature.  Rules for this Modified event will be IMCA along with the exceptions made by I-70 Speedway during the 2007 IMCA points’ season.
