Brown Bests Sprint Car Field at I-70 Speedway

Odessa, MO (July 21, 007) – Another perfect night of weather and racing thrilled fans at I-70 Speedway.  On the dirt track side of “Two for One Saturday”, It was also a perfect night for Marshall, MO driver Frank Brown, as he won his heat race, the pole dash and the Feature Event, dominating the I-70 Sprint Cars.

 

Brown, in his # 43 sprint car bested the field in his first sprint car Feature win on the D shaped 3/8 mile dirt track at I-70.   A last lap pass, turn four pass put the #75 of Rod Hockett in second.  Chasing Hockett was the 44 of Phil Heavelow, 55 Ken Potter, 24 Allen Billings, Arizona transplant, Joe Larkin in his #36L, the 9x of veteran Larry Carter, #88 Chad Tye, 48 David Brown, 21 Mike Lefholz, #12 Ryan Rector and the #12b of Mike Boyer.  The #20 of Ron Lefholz was unable to make the call for the feature event.

 

I-70 Sprint Car action will continue with two more events at the Dirt Track at I-70 before the 2007 season comes to an end.   There will be some shuffling of dates due to other conflicting sprint car events, Sprint Car fans should watch the I-70 Dirt Track web site for those changes by logging on at www.i70speedway.net and clicking onto the Dirt Track site.

 

Plans are in the works between drivers and officials at I-70 Speedway to schedule the I-70 Speedway Sprint Cars on the dirt track every other Saturday night during the 2008 racing season.  I-70 hopes to make an announcement firming this up some time in October.

 

Next on the schedule for the I-70 Speedway dirt track will be “Five Dollar Friday”.  As always on Friday nights, all general admission tickets are only $5.00.  Pit Gates open at 5:00, Admission Gates open at 6:00.  Hot Laps begin at 7:30 with Racing at 8:15.  Featured class are; the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA SportMods, Sport Compacts and the Farm Trucks.
