Modifieds Race Four Wide on “Five Dollar Friday”

Odessa, MO (June 22, 2007) – “Dirt Track racing just does not get any better than this”, commented I-70 owner, Brad McDonald.  “Those Modified guys were racing four wide down the back stretch”, added McDonald.  “Thank you Brad for a great race track tonight” was the fist words out of Modified feature winner, Mike Tanner’s mouth.  Mike had offered to buy the water truck during last weeks drivers meeting, but could not say enough about the great track Brad and crew prepared for this Fridays racing.

After several laps of sometime four wide IMCA Modified racing, Mike Tanner in his #20t modified was the A Feature winner.  Second behind Mike was the # 22y of Yancy Shepard, the 12c of Merrill Crose, 26ss Steven Glenn, 93s Chad Shaw and the # 61 of Rick Carver.

The IMCA Stock Cars also put on a spectacular show as the led changed numerous time in the Feature Event.  The # 12 of Russell Walter made it back to Victory Lane again, followed by the 714 of last weeks feature winner, Jason Anderson, 22a Alvie Christofferson, x9 of Brad Whitney, 97 Travis Taylor, 86 Gary Foxworthy, s20 Gene Stigall, 417 Kevin Anderson, 50 Curtis Morrison and the 63b of Mike Nichols.

Matt Marrant in the #69 IMCA SportMod is beginning to make regular visits to Victory Lane.  Matt was followed by the 70 of David Willey, 31z Wade Brown and the #77 of John Miller.

In the Sport Compact division, Allen Guthrie in the #32 made an inside move on the #33 of Jason Marrant, to get to the start - finish line first.  Following Guthrie and Marrant was the # 62j of point’s leader, Jessica Clemons, the 47 driven by I-70 Super Truck driver Joey Frey, 71 Justin Marrant, and the #10 of Joe Willcoxson.  The #4 of Shawn Box was unable to make the call for the feature.

The Caribbean Cowboy Barbeque Sauce Farm Truck Racing Class is on the grow.  Brandon Box in the #4 Farm Truck was in Victory Lane for the second time in as many weeks.  Right behind Brandon was the 99 truck of Charles Ball, 911 Richard Scott, 3 Paul Harphan and the 13 of Chris Johns.

Friday night’s crowd was also treated to a special match race between Modified driver Chad Shaw and I-70 Owner, Brad McDonald.  Only thing was, the race was in school busses.  After some beating and banging and some pretty nasty slide jobs, Chad Shaw was the victor.  Stay tuned, there may be a rematch.

Next event on the Dirt Track at I-70 Speedway, will be next Friday night as the IMCA Modifieds, Stock Cars, and SpotMods plus the Sport Compacts and Farm Trucks will return for more of the best racing action in the Kansas City metro area.
