Fist Night of “Three Race Weekend” Completed

Odessa, MO (May25, 2007) This week “Five Dollar Friday” was the first of three straight nights of racing at I-70 Speedway.  Friday night’s event featured the IMCA Modifieds, Stock Cars, SportMods, Sport Compacts and Farm Truck racing.

Mike Tanner, pilot of the #20t lead the Modifieds across victory lane, winning his first Feature Event of the season at the I-70 Dirt Track.  Mile was followed by the 93s of Chad Shaw, 91 Eddie Schwope Jr., 19 P.J. Conger, 58 Terry Van Trump, 12c Merrill Crose, 44g Randy Grimmett, 22y Yancy Shepard, 09jr Jeff Assel, 12 Jeremiah Saling, 25j Ken Jeanneret, 54 Lynn Starry, 8 Jeremy Simmons, 12x George Burnett, 26ss Steven Glenn, and the 7s Jeff Shepard.  The 44h of Huey Jacobs was unable to make the feature start.

For the second week in a row the x9 of Brad Whitney crossed the finish line in front of the field of IMCA Stack Cars.  Following Brad was the 22a of Alvie Christofferson, 714 Jason Anderson, 417 Kevin Anderson, 3 Brian Houghton, 95 Brian Audette, 83 Aaron Sauter, 50 Curtis Morrison, 11t Bennie Turner and the 86 of Gary Foxworthy.

In the IMCA SportMod division, Matt Marrant driving the #69 was first to see the checkered flag.  Behind Matt was the #34 of Scott Pullen, 70 David Willey, 77 John Miller and the #99 of Brad Smith.

#32 Allen Guthrie won his second IMCA Sport Compact feature in as many weeks, following Allen was the #62j of Jessica Clemons, 33 Jason Marrant and the #60 driven by Jimmy Nelson.

In the Farm Trucks sponsored by Caribbean Cowboy Barbeque Sauce, Larry Schieber drove the #99 truck to victory followed by 7 “Big Trouble” Barlow, 5 “Smokin” Joe Boxer and the 0 of Paul Pony.

Tomorrow night May 26^th will be night two of three for the weekend.  The “Two for One Saturday” show will feature the Super Trucks, Dash Cars, Super Stocks and Enduros on the Asphalt Track.  The Dirt Track will feature the SMRS Midget Series and the Midwest Outlaw Lighting Sprints on the Dirt Track.

Saturday Pit Gates open at 4:00; Admission Gates open at 5:00.  Hot Laps on the Asphalt Track will start at 6:00 with Racing at 7:30.  Hot Laps on the Dirt Track start at 8:00 with racing at 9:00.  Adult ticket price is $12.00, Children $5.00 with Children 5 and under admitted for free.
