Friday Night Lights Set to Take Green
(April 19, 2007) -- Yes, Friday Night Lights and we’re not talking about a Movie or TV show or about Football. We are talking about the new lights that are now in place on the Dirt Track at I-70 Speedway, just in time for the first Friday night weekly show. The Friday night show, which is all about affordable dirt track racing, will feature four great classes for racing, all IMCA sanctioned. As an entry level class the new IMCA Spot Compact class will be just what young aspiring racers are looking for. Those who are looking for a class that is the next step up or for the driver who does not have a lot of time to work on a race car during the week, the very popular IMCA SportMod class is a class defiantly worth considering. For those stock car fans, the IMCA Stock Car class is one of the most competitive and exciting classes to watch with door to door racing as the norm, not the exception. And what race fan doesn’t have a racing story about Modifieds. The IMCA Modified is the car that started it all, the most popular style of racing in the United States today. “When we were thinking about building the dirt track, we wanted to bring racing to the Kansas City area that was more affordable for the drivers and car owners”, stated Brad McDonald, owner and promoter of both tracks at I-70. “Dirt track racing is at an all time high, with the high car counts and incredible popularity, also has come the high costs of owning and maintaining a race car. I believe IMCA and the rules they have created is the best answer out there when it comes to affordable racing”, concluded McDonald. “And, we were not just thinking about the drivers and owners, we were also thinking about the fans when we were in the planning stages for these Friday night shows. With the cost of fuel, we had to come up for something for the fans. That is when I came up with $5.00 Fridays”, continued McDonald. So what are $5.00 Fridays? All general admission tickets for the IMCA Friday night shows will only cost $5.00. And, as always at I-70 Speedway, children 5 years old and under will be admitted for free. With great weather predicted for this weekend, we hope to see you at I-70 Speedway, this Friday night, for “Friday Night Lights”.
